Orlik, Emil, b. Prague (Czech Republic), July, 21, 1870, d. Berlin (Germany), Sept. 28, 1932, graphic artist and painter. stayed in Vienna 1904/05 (from 1899 member of the Vienna Secession).
With his friends from the Secession Gustav Klimt, Kolo Moser and Josef Hoffmann, he was also involved in the creation of the Cabaret Fledermaus.
The style of his graphics, which originated from Japanese colour wood cuts (emphasis on contour and flatness) had a huge influence on the secession style.
